MPA-ESP Fall 2025 Final Briefing

The Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy invites you to attend the Fall 2025 Final Workshop Briefings. During the Midterm Briefings, students will present their findings as a part of ENVP U9230 The Workshop in Applied Earth Systems Management II.

The Workshop emphasizes management issues. Students enroll in small, faculty-advised project teams. Each Workshop faculty member selects a piece of proposed, but not yet enacted, state, federal, or local environmental law (or a U.N. resolution), and students are asked to develop a plan for implementing and managing the new program. In the summer semester, the Workshop groups write reports explaining the environmental science aspects of the issue that the legislation addresses and the management solutions that the legislation would put into place and in the fall semester, the Workshop completes the operational plan for implementing the program.

• NY State Assembly Bill A05947: Prohibiting Importation of Certain Wildlife and Fish, And Live Animal Market Restrictions
• NY State Senate Bill S2162: Pollinator Promotion Act
• NY State Senate Bill S1028: Safe Havens for All-Day Enjoyment (SHADE) Act
